Update: on Sept. 23, Mishel Arrieta posted to say that her studio will be relocating to #106-329 Columbia St. The shop will (hopefully) be moved into its new space by Nov. 1. View the details of the move on the Arrieta Instagram page.
If you’ve enjoyed Arrieta Art Studio’s Front St., location, you may want to stop by sooner rather than later, with owner and artist Mishel Arrieta announcing on Wednesday that she plans to move out ff the space sometime before the new year.
“Between rent costs and maintenance of an older unit like this, I’ve decided to move on,” an update to the studio’s Instagram reads.
The space has become a community darling, not only hosting other artisans like Lola’s Soap, but it’s also been a gathering place for people to take part in art shows, game nights, and clothing swaps.
Arrieta added she moved into the space knowing it was an old building that needed a lot of TLC. She calls being the opportunity to have been in the space a dream.
“That said I plan to continue what I’m doing: hosting community events, art shows, and workshops. I’ll announce my new location soon!”
In the interim, Arrieta will be hosting a fundraiser clothing swap and art sale, happening on Saturday, Oct. 28. Funds raised from the event will go towards moving costs.
You can find the studio at 707 Front St. Mews.
