Here's how to get in touch with us

Our team is always looking for the latest and greatest New West event listings and we'd love for you to pass them along. We can't run our community newsletter without you.

We have room for two small feature stories per issue. These are only posted in our newsletter and are first-come, first-served.

Story ideas & news tips

  • Reply to our New West Anchor newsletters, which we send out each Tuesday and Thursday.

  • Email us at [email protected]. If there is interest and/or capacity, we will respond within 48 hours.

  • We do not recommend re-sending follow-up emails. Tips are responded to in the order they arrive in our inbox.

  • While you can DM tips to us via social media, those pages are sporadically monitored. You may not receive a reply.

Press releases

  • Email us at [email protected]

  • We do NOT respond to region-wide or nation-wide press releases unless they are of interest and they are specific to New Westminster

Please note that if there is a certain edition of The Anchor's newsletter you'd like to see your event covered in: the sooner you get the tip to us, the better.

  • Items with a turnaround of 48 hours (from when your email is received to when it should be published) are not guaranteed to be featured

Events

Because we publish newsletters two times a week, our events are shared in the Thursday edition.

We no longer post to social media due to Bill C-18.

To list your event:

  • Reply to our New West Anchor newsletters

  • Email us at [email protected]

  • To ensure we see your event, we ask that you please do not DM information over Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or TikTok, as they can sometimes end up in separate folders; email has been the best way for us to ensure local events are included. Anything sent through DM over social media is not guaranteed a space.

When you send us your event info, let us know:

  • Who is hosting it?

  • What's the event for? (Fundraiser? Not-for-profit? Arts/crafts fair?)

  • The date(s) it'll be happening

  • Any additional links, email addresses, and/or phone numbers you can share with us (links to buy tickets, learn more info, registration, etc.)
