A heck of a deal on a movie in New West

Landmark Cinemas is participating in National Movie Day on Aug. 27

If you haven’t had the chance to head to the movie theatres as of recent, and you’d like to do so for a steal, you’re in luck.

Aug. 27 is National Cinema Day from coast to coast to coast, and that means dozens of movie theatres will be offering admission for any film in any format at $4.

“Participating theatres across the country are inviting movie lovers (that means YOU!) to experience movies the way they were meant to be enjoyed – with a community of fellow movie-goers, delicious popcorn, and your favourite drink,” the Movie Theatre Association of Canada (MTAC) explains on its National Cinema Day page.

Among those participating is the Landmark Cinemas in New Westminster, which can be found at The Shops at New West—right on the SkyTrain line. There are also two locations participating in Burnaby.

Who is responsible for National Cinema Day?

MTAC’s was founded in 1980, and its goal is to advocate for the interests of theatres country-wide. Its reasoning for the Aug. 27 event is to celebrate anyone who loves taking in a movie at the theatres.
