⚓ Hot dogs can help locals in need

👋 And a New West group needs volunteers

Together With

Energy Save New West & City of New Westminster

Welcome to Tuesday, New West!

We’re into the warm months of June, but would you believe rain is on the way? Friday’s expected to be a tad wet, though it’ll still be 22 degrees.

There is something refreshing about a little rain in the warmer weather. We’ve watched with excitement as our relatively new planters look lush and green. They’re almost as green as the recently planted plants along the Agnes Greenway—which will have its official opening on June 17. Find the details here.

CAN YOU HELP?

The Don’t Go Hungry program, which has roots in New Westminster, is still trying to raise funds to be able to provide fresh, nutritious food to those in need.

On Saturday, June 17, they’ll be selling hot dogs, chips, pop, and ice cream to raise funds to be able to keep purchasing food, so that they can keep going. The fundraiser is happening outside the Buy-Low Foods in the Edmonds area.

Energy upgrade and bonus rebates

Did you know that you can access bonus rebates up to $2,000 when you complete two or more eligible energy upgrades? This incentive is in addition to the rebates you receive for individual measures from the CleanBC Better Homes program.

Energy Save New West’s 2022 data shows the average energy savings for homes who completed two or more upgrades was 80% more than those who completed just one upgrade. If you’re considering home renovations this spring, we encourage you to pursue multiple home upgrades to maximize your incentives.
