Welcome to Tuesday!

I am always in awe when I speak to the youngsters in our community. There’s a perfect example in today’s newsletter—The Anchor had the opportunity to chat with four students taking part in Centre Stage, a musical revue that will have a two-day run this Thursday and Friday. Between Shrek and Centre Stage, NDUB is just oozing with talent.

Hats off to these teens as they get ready to roll out their show later this week. Keep scrolling to learn more about how you can support them!

LOCAL NEWS AND EVENTS

Those talented New West Secondary students are at it again! They’re putting together a musical revue that will be showing on Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2. Centre Stage is, erm, “centred” around some conflict, guidance, and celebrating yourself—all while featuring great tunes from Newsies and The Greatest Showman.

We sat down with Scarlett Nilson, Lynda Machado, Faith Villareal, and Alex Sabinin—each of whom are involved in the production in various capacities.

City staff say New Westminster has been given a grant of nearly $250,000 from the federal government to help improve the space at Tipperary Park.

Find out what those plans are, and when the changes are expected to be implemented.
