⚓ Going for a Guinness World Record

🏛 Plus: bridge talk is back at council

Welcome to Tuesday—

I have some updates to share with you about our Anchor team: Friday was Eva’s last day, as she’s accepted another position with an organization in Burnaby. I’m going to miss her energy and the love she has for this publication.😭

I also wanted to take a moment to introduce Brianna, who will be joining The Anchor as an intern. She’s looking forward to reporting on a little bit of everything, but she’s keen to experience city council and also explore community reporting while she’s with us!

Give Brianna a follow on Twitter here.

  • A long-time New Westie has a day named in her honour.

  • And, it was delegation night.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT

Andi is in Grade 4 at Skwo:wech Elementary/New West Schools

Congrats to Grade 4 Skwo:wech student Andi who tried to set a new Guinness World Record: attempting to balance the tallest stack of hats on her head. The record she had to beat was a 107 cm stack, which had to remain on her head for 30 seconds.

While she missed the record by four seconds, Andi was still able to help raise plenty money ahead of the school’s upcoming Terry Fox Run!

There’s still time to donate, which you can do here.
