Celebrate the Super Bowl in New West

Beer. Wings. Good company. What's not to love?

Listen, I’m very much a “go sports” kinda gal, but I won’t say no to wings, a good cider, (controversial take: I’m not a beer person), and exceptional company. And anytime there’s been some kind of Super Bowl event at a bar or a pub, the thrill of the crowd I’m around is the kind of vibe I live for.

While I do, on occasion cheer for the Seahawks, I really and truly have no skin in this year’s game with the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. But if you’re looking for a local place to catch the game this Sunday the good news is there are a ton of options, and we’ve rounded them up for you here.

Alternately, this piece also serves as a heads-up that if you’re wondering why the local pubs and bars are so busy…well, it’s because of football.

Kick-off is set for 3:30pm Pacific.

In what’s being billed as “the ultimate watch party,” Match Eatery is going all out with ½ off game day pizzas, a ton of official NFL prizes, and even a live DJ. There’s no cover charge for the event, but Match is recommending reservations, which you can do by giving them a shout at 604-777-8008. You can also email them at [email protected].

The Quayside area spot is recommending folks arrive well in advance of kick-off, with a full house expected on game day. They’ll also be raffling off prizes like a 55” TV, a propane fire pit, and team merchandise. The Paddlewheeler will also be serving up specials on select beer, wine, and drinks.

Don’t miss their tailgate party, which will get underway at 1pm. There are also some incredible prizes up for grabs, like a cooler full of beer and game day swag. Food specials include wings, sliders, and nachos.

Georgie’s is inviting people to head on down as early as possible to ensure they get a seat, with doors opening at 11:30am. They’ll be doing prize giveaways every quarter during the game.

Pregame festivities will start at 12:30pm, and they’ve got an entire tailgate inspired menu ready to go. We’ve got our eye on the “tailgate platter for two,” which includes roast beef, chorizo, pulled pork, cornbread, house slaw, gravy, and a pound of ribs. Reservations are also welcome.
