⚓ A decades-long New West mystery

And the latest proposed development to hit council

TOGETHER WITH

Welcome to Tuesday, New West!

It’s a little early, but a heads up we’re taking a little Anchor break—it’s my first one since we started our news outlet last year! There will be no newsletters Aug. 1-5.

I have no idea what I’ll be doing, but I’m thinking about some time by our local waters with my big list of books I need to get through, or maybe some kind of water-related excursion. Either way, it’ll be a good time to get outside and get some rest and relaxation.

Containers should be empty, rinsed, and have the lids removed before being placed in your container recycling.

You are encouraged to bring refundable glass bottles (wine, beer, etc.) to an alternate recycling depot for a deposit refund. Broken glass, drinking glasses, windows, mirrors, ceramics, and light bulbs are not accepted in any recycling bins and should be disposed of responsibly. 🏛️ City council

It was another busy Monday at council and we’ve got a recap for you.

One of the highlights of yesterday’s events at city hall included the possibility of another master planned community coming to Downtown New West—talked about just weeks after the announcement of the new vision for Columbia Square.

Knowing what’s happening at city hall each week isn’t something everyone can do. But at the Anchor we do that for you. You can depend on us to be your eyes and ears bringing you the latest of what’s happening, and what council is doing with your hard-earned dollars.

But we need your help to continue doing this. Become an Anchor Insider member today and help ensure city hall gets watched and covered.
