The Anvil Centre. There are some next steps on the way for the use of the space, including a functional review, as well as developing pilot programs to bring specific areas to life.

Flooding fallout? During a workshop on Monday, city council looked at the potential repercussions of a flood in New West, focusing on places like Downtown and Queensborough.

Drake rescheduled. Due to a technical issue, the Drake concert that was supposed to happen last night at Rogers Arena has been rescheduled to Wednesday. The planned Tuesday concert is happening with no change.

Gas prices. They’re are expected to increase in Metro Vancouver ahead of the Labour Day long weekend. Some places were at $2.13 per litre on Monday. (CBC Vancouver)

Ferry workers. Worker shortages have apparently been one of the major reasons for BC Ferries’ sailings being cancelled. (Global)

Okanagan homes. Nearly 200 homes in the area have been destroyed in the current wildfires. (CBC Vancouver)

Locals helping. In the Shuswap, people living in the community are helping crews fight wildfires, but they’re required to complete a training session. (CTV)

Whether it’s offering a place to stay when first responders and veterans need somewhere to go during medical treatment—or if they’ve lost their home during BC’s horrible wildfire season—we’re looking at how this not-for-profit offers to help those who help others.

Waterfront Fun. Don’t miss China Syndrome, playing the music by the river event this Wednesday from 5 to 8pm at Pier Park.
